The greatest blizzard since the snowstorm of 1993 has left two feet of snow in Beaver, Lawrence and Allegheny areas. Occupants were recommended not to come out of their houses until any emergency.
More than fifty thousand Duquesne Light clients in Beaver and Allegheny areas stayed without electricity this forenoon, due to the heavy, soaked snow broke down tree limbs and power cables. Duquesne Light functionaries stated that work parties were working on to restore power; they were unable to give any guesses as to how much time it might take. The Duquesne light customers are facing a lot of trouble due to the power failure. The residents have to face the music till proper repairs are done to the cables.
County constabulary in Beaver and Beaver County 911 Emergency team’s starters said highways were wide-open on Saturday dawn, although most of them were still snowy. A few roads were closed as cables had come down onto the route.
The information from national weather service is that, about forty five centimeters of snow fall was recorded in Monaca and fifty three centimeters of snow was reported in Hooks town and forty eight centimeters in Moon.
Pittsburgh International Airport was shut down at dawn; it has not been stated when it will start operation again.
Beaver county’s recreational events have also been postponed due to heavy snow fall.
Occupants of North Sewickley town were requested to economize H2O due to a power failure.
The snow fall was anticipated to stop by midday, but a violent storm cautionary persisted in force till 6 p.m. Sat.
