James Dyson, a British inventor has invented a bladeless electric fan which would be for sale in US and Australian markets. The Dyson air multiplier fan has very hi-tech appearance and has been developed by improving the airflow engineering rather than sticking to the “old blade version” for air flow production. This new technology multiplies air 15 times and propels 119 gallons of air per second. So it is the Dyson’s claim that he has invented the bladeless fan which propels air from a narrow ring-type slit and claims that it has far better thrust of air than its “bladed competitor”. It is more convenient and safer than the older technology. The 125 years old technology had the problems of uneven and irregular thrusts of air which is very irritable and unpleasant. The new technology is based upon that of Dyson’s earlier hand-dryers which uses sheets of fresh air with the speed of 400 mph and gives an edge over the other competitors. The invention is the result of painstaking work of fluid dynamics engineers who spent four years to achieve the target. They optimized fan’s speed with the help of computer simulations which further led to the invention of “blade-less” fan. “We realized that this could be more improved by passing airflow over a ramp,” says Dyson. So this was the basic thing which produced the idea of bladeless fan and it has assumed the form of a reality. This fan will help get rid of irregular thrusts of turbulent air rejecting blades altogether. The new technology is based on the function that it sucks air just like a vacuum cleaner or a dryer. The loop amplifier enhances the speed of the air making a jet of air which further strikes the ramp .On one side, the air is sucked in to the machine and on the other hand, it is thrown with the help of air inducement and converts the air into amplified air thrust which is 15 times more powerful than the ordinary fan. The fan is quite energy efficient and its price is set at $300.
