Elin Maria Pernilla Nordegren was born in Sweden. Her mother is a politician and a former immigration officer and policy maker of an asylum. Elin’s father is radio journalist who has also served as bureau chief in Washington D.C. Elin has two siblings; one elder brother and a twin sister. She along with her twinned sister Josefin has done different odd jobs during their summer vacations to finance their studies. Both twins Elin and Josefin have even worked as cashiers in superstores. Elin later started modeling and her first magazine cover got published in 2000 in Café Sport.
Elin soon left modeling and started working as au pairs along with her twin sister for Jesper Parnevik. He is a golfer. She was introduced by Parnevik to Tiger Woods while he was on the 2001 British Open Championship tour. In 2003, Elin and Tiger Woods got officially engaged in private ceremony at Shamwari Game Reserve. The couple got married on October 5, 2004 at the Sandy Lane resort.
Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods have been married for five years and the couple has two children, a two-years-old daughter and a one-year-old son, together.
