God made man, and then said I can do better than that and made a woman. This is too right to deny because women have always proved themselves that they as strong and successful as man. Elizabeth Blackburn the charming, beautiful professor of the University of California, San Francisco was announced the Nobel Prize winner for a new discovery in the field of physiology and medicine. Elizabeth H Blackburn is the citizen of Australia and America.
Elizabeth Blackburn got her PHD in 1975 at the University of Cambridge and started performing her duties as a researcher at the Yale University in USA. She discovered telomeres, the caps on the tops of chromosomes and these telomeres will help to protect genetic information, has presented new strokes of examination into growth, ageing and disease. She has made a big development by working on telomeres, Blackburn and Szostak actually exposed the presence of an exclusive DNA classification in the telomeres that help to protect the chromosomes from dreadful conditions while Blackburn and Greider cooperatively described telomerase, the enzyme that makes telomere DNA.
These discoveries have a strong impact on cancer research along with research into aging, stress and other infections. Professor Blackburn and her UCSF colleagues have examined the telomeres that weakened the symptoms of long term stress among humans, like a parent caring for a persistently unhealthyor ill child.
Elizabeth Blackburn has won a prize worth $1.4 million and will share one fourth of her prize with her ex- student Carol Greider of Johns Hopkins University and a researcher Jack Szostak of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and Massachusetts General Hospital.
Thisgraceful Australian pride has won 11thNobel’s for Australia, but just this one for science and medicine, the exception being Patrick White’s distinction for literature and this is the fourth UCSF Nobel Prize for science and medicine.
