Elizabeth Creekmore Byrd

Former Congressman Chip Pickering’s alienated wife Leisha Jane Pickering has filed a law suit against Elizabeth Creekmore-Byrd of Jackson on Thursday 15th July, 2009 in Hinds County Circuit Court saying that the affair with Elizabeth Creekmore-Byrd has destroyed their marriage and spoiled her husband’s political career.

Leisha Pickering claims in the lawsuit that Elizabeth Creekmore-Byrd and her husband had a relationship before Congressman Chip married her but ended before their marriage, the relationship resumed while Chip Pickering was serving the government in Washington, D.C., moreover, the lawsuit says that Elizabeth creekmore divorced Dr. Byrd in 2007 so that Congressman and she could be together, she also insisted that Congressman Chip must not accept Senate seat “Former Sen. Trent Lott’s” so that he would be able to divorce “Leisha Jane Pickering”.

The lawsuit also says that Elizabeth forced the former congressman to become a private citizen and continue relationship with her, otherwise they she would not be able to continue the relationship, therefore, former Congressman Chip Pickering gave up Former Sen. Trent Lott’s Senate seat because he did not want to lose the affection and love of Elizabeth Creekmore-Byrd.

In 2008, former congressman Chip Pickering filed for divorce to leave his wife and five children, so that two could be together, but the divorce was not been granted. However, the former congressman announced his retirement at the end of his term rented a house away from his family, just to be with Elizabeth creekmore-Byrd.

The divorce complaint filed by former congressman Chip Pickering is still pending at Madison County Chancery Court.
