A 2007 hit Elvis and Annabelle is a beautiful love story. If a theme is to be labeled for the movie it would be “love can defeat death”. Elvis and his father are in the funeral business moreover they also “embalm” dead bodies. Elvis and Annabelle first see each other as Elvis is on his way to a store. They live in a small town and everybody knows each other. Annabelle and her mother recognize Elvis.
Watching the movie I think that, that exactly was the point where cupid fired his arrow. Anyways Annabelle is on her way to be Miss Texas Rose. The title has previously been held by her mother. Annabelle is just a zombie, her mother is controlling her every move. As she is to be Miss Texas Rose, she is very much concerned about her image and develops an eating disorder in the process. She wins the title only to collapse on the stage and die. She is taken to Elvis’ funeral home. Elvis has always been a fan (Lover) of Annabelle and kisses her dead body. As the kiss turned frog into prince, Elvis’ kiss resurrects Annabelle. The news of her coming to life is everywhere. She realizes that she was not living her life for herself and moves to the house of Charlie and Elvis. She plants sunflowers in a barren field while being at their home. Police is chasing her and they apprehend Elvis. Annabelle visits Elvis’ in jail and there he reveals that it was him who gave her life back to her. She takes back the charges against Elvis and he is released from the custody.
As Elvis tries to commit suicide he sees the sunflowers planted by Annabelle from the window and he abandons the idea. On the other hand Annabelle is also trying to commit suicide, as she sees Elvis in the news she also quits the idea. In the end couple is seen lying in the sunflower field in each other’s arms.
