Eric Wrinkles is awaiting death by lethal injection in Indiana’s Death Row. His mindless shootings resulted in the deaths of his wife Debbie, Debbie’s brother and her brother’s wife. Ironically Eric Wrinkle’s own daughter called 911 from a neighbor’s phone and informed them about the incident in her scared to death voice. Eric wrinkles took all the responsibility and said that he is extremely sorry for his actions as he appeared on Oprah Winfrey show.
According to events surrounding the killings, the relations between Eric Wrinkles and his wife Debbie had gone sour. Ugly divorce proceedings were in court. Debbie had got an order from the court restraining Eric Wrinkles’ interaction with his two children. Meanwhile Debbie shifted to the house of her brother.
It was July 20, 1994 the couple attended a hearing at the court and as they came out Debbie promised to let Eric see his children in a restaurant. As Eric waited Debbie with children did not show up. He tried to call but nothing worked. The event prompted Eric Wrinkles to appear at the home of Debbie’s brother with his face painted. First he made it sure that no phone is working in the house and cut all the phone lines and then entered the house by breaking the back door.
First he killed Debbie’s brother and then sought his wife and killed her. As Debbie’s brother’s wife tried to escape, Eric Wrinkles chased her and shot at her face.
As Eric apologized profusely, he blamed the incident to his “crystal meth” abuse.
Eric Wrinkles has been refused the appeal to change the sentence to life imprisonment.
