The most loved and popular show “MuthBusters” regular Erik Gates owner of “Gateco Electric” died in a work related accident. Erik Gates fell from a 30ft high skylight while working on a site.
Erik Gates was 47-years-old at the time of his death. CEO of “Gateco Electric” Erik Gates suffered a blunt force chest injury after falling through a skylight, he died on Sunday. The saddest part of the news is that Erik brother Dirk Gates was present at the scene. Dirk Gates is the Owner of Xirrus, Inc, the company that owns the site where Erik Gates was killed.
In a statement released by Steve DeGennaro, the co-founder of Xirrus Inc. And chief financial officer said that Erik Gates was a good guy, he was a base and parachute jumper and have survived cancer. He was an active guy who always used precautions before working on any site. This was a freak accident and should not have happened.
Erick Gates and his brother Dirk were active in applied science and rocketry. Both brothers also own and run a website with the name “Gate Brother Rocketry”. It was Gates’ brother’s expertise in rockets that started his participation with MythBusters.
Earlier today condolences were expressed for Erik gates on the official Twitter blog of MythBusters.
They wrote that Erik Gates was an honorary MythBuster and will be missed, they also expressed they deepest sympathies for the family and close friends.
MythBusters took the expertise of Erick Gates in four different episodes of the program as Amateur Rocket Expert.
