The pistol used in Fort Hood Texas shooting spree was a “FN 5.7 millimeter pistol”. The police officials said that a 5.7-millimeter pistol used by the shooter Nidal Hasan, who legally purchased it from a Texas gun shop. Nidal Hasan attacked on the biggest Army Base of US.
Officials were not authorized to discuss the matter of Fort Hood Shooting but Army Col, deputy commander at Fort Hood; John Rossi confirmed the news that Nidal Hasan was carrying two at the time of attack. He also said that both weapons were not the assets of military but were locally purchased by the shooter for his private use and about 100 rounds were fired by those pistols during attack.
Records and reports indicate that Hasan went to the store called “Guns Galore” in Killeen, Texas, last month, asked for the gun and purchased this “FN 5.7 millimeter pistol”, used in the attack that left 12 people dead and 30 injured . The pistol has been called a “cop killer” by gun control advocates.
According to one of the law enforcement officer, the second weapon was an older model Smith & 357-caliber revolver, but there is no indication that any shoot was fired by this second weapon.
