When the magazine came out with the list for the richest people it left a lot of the readers surprised as more of the new billionaires came from the regions of Asia and Russia. There were a total of one thousand and eleven billionaires this year with most of them coming from the country of China after the United States of America which has been leading in the number of billionaires it has for years.
The Forbes rich list showed another surprising fact as the most wealthiest of the billionaires in the world was a Mexican citizen Carlos Slim. Slim is seventy years of age and has made his money through a number of opportunities he has taken including acquisition of assets during the Mexican recession that occurred in the early eighties. Slim was ranked the richest in the world after his assets were assessed to be worth more than fifty-three billion US dollars.
The other interesting fact that comes across through the Forbes rich list is the astonishing amount of billionaires that came out this year from China and although it has been revealed that China may have more billionaires this year than any other country in the world apart from America, India is the south Asian country that really has something be proud of. Eight of the billionaires from India within the forbes rich list, came within the top hundred list while two of those eight came as close to first position as falling within the top five. As compared to that the richest man in China comes only on the fourteenth position of the list giving India a significant lead over its neighbor.
