“WELCOME TO FORT HOOD, Home of America’s Armored Corps” The words greet your eyes as you enter the largest military American Military base. As the reports are coming, the Ft Hood Texas became the victim of one of the worst shooting sprees. The shooting at Ft Hood Texas was undertaken by an army Major who has been named as Malik Nadal Hasan. Initial reports said that there are two men in the custody for shooting and that Maj. Hasan has been killed in counter firing, but later in the updates it has been clarified by the authorities that, only Maj. Hasan is charged for undertaking the shootings and he is admitted in the military hospital where his condition is stable and he is in custody. 12 people have been killed and 31 others are wounded as the result of Ft. Hood Texas shooting.
President Obama has condemned the shootings and called it a “horrific incident”. Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan was serving as a Psychiatrist and his specialty was stress related disorders. Ironically he fell victim to the stress. He was due to be posted in Iraq and did not want this to happen. He had hired a professional to plead his case. As everything failed he became desperate. He was also taunted by his colleagues for belonging to Mid East.
The motive of the shootings is still not clear, however Maj. Nadal has been reportedly posting messages on Jihadist sites and Army was aware of the fact.
The man who undertook shooting at Ft Hood Texas is a Muslim but nobody is suspecting any relationship between the incident and his religious beliefs.
