Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab did not succeed to blow the flight 253 bound for Detroit, America from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, but he is succeeded to rip off the clothes of American nation that will fly from Schiphol Airport Amsterdam to America. Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport authorities will be screening all passengers bound for America to go through a full body scan at the airport.
Dutch Interior Minister Guusje Ter Horst announced in a press conference at The Hague that full body scanners will be in place within three weeks. Guusje Ter added that world has avoided a serious attack that could have serious consequences as there are people in the world who are not hesitant of killing innocent people.
The Dutch authorities iterated that they are confident of their security measures and all security measures were adopted while Umar was carried out to Detroit flight from an earlier flight that came from Nigeria. The authorities were referring to metal detectors and X-ray machines but according to Guusje Ter Hoarst that equipment was not sufficient to detect non metal explosives like one that was hidden by Umar Farouk.
Horst also acknowledged the absence of watertight measures and added that for that reason they are deploying full body scanners at the airports. As initially only 15 full body scanners will be installed at the airport, rest of the passengers bound for America will go through the strict body search.
The full body scanner installation has got a mixed opinion through out Europe and some of the experts have declared it a violation of human rights charter, while others have taken the stance that if minors are forced to go through these scanners that will be a kind of child pornography.
