FWisd stands for “The Fort Worth Independent School District” and is the fifth largest school district in Texas. FEisd offers education to almost 80,000 students and 11,000 employees with 80 elementary schools, 24 middle schools, 13 high schools, and 27 alternative schools.
The latest about FWisd is that it is under the threat of Swine Flu and all the school under the district of FWisd will be temporally closed from 30th April, 2009 untill further notice. FWisd believe in the safety and security of the child. District officials are having meeting with “Tarrant County Public Health Department’s” senior professionals concerning the safety issues of the students. The department has advised the residents not to panic and just to take precautionary measures.
On Wednesdays evening talking to a news conference Superintendent “Melody Johnson” director of the Tarrant County Public Health Department “Mrs. Lou Brewer” and the medical director “Dr. Sandra Parker” jointly had announced that “We have been diligently following the recommendations of our local public health authorities since this crisis first began and we will continue to work with the senior-most staff of the local health department”.
Superintendent “Melody Johnson” said, “Precautions from Swine flu are not only been taken in the FWisd but I am in contact with “Mayor Moncrief” and so we’re working together with the city and city officials so that we can work together in the best interest of all of the citizens of Fort Worth”.
Hopefully Schools will be opened by May 11, 2009 on Monday.
