Autumn is the season of festivals and even this year hundreds of festivals are scheduled through out the autumn. This month’s highlight is Garlic Festival in Saugerties, New York. Every year New Yorker’s enjoy chilly winds along with festivals, fairs, and carnivals. One of the most-visited festivals is the Garlic Festival which is celebrated every year in the neighboring Saugerties, New York. People gather at the Hudson Valley to celebrate one of the largest garlic festivals of the state. The Hudson Valley Garlic Festival is held every year and this year it celebrated its 21st anniversary. The festival kicked off on Saturday 26th September and will remain open till Sunday evening. The festival is being held at Cantine Field at Saugerties.
The garlic festival hosts more than 15,000 visitors every year and this year the organizers are expecting even more strength. The festival is celebrated with an aroma of garlic in the air. The festival hosts entertainers, vendors, chefs, craftsmen, and demonstrators. This year the festival is hosting a food court, garlic market place, fun-filled activities for children, music concerts by local bands, cooking demonstrations by numerous chefs, and vendor shops for arts & crafts. The food court is offering a large variety of food items which include almond, artisan breads, a variety of soups, fried food, various dishes of chicken, salads, tofu wraps, Thai Curry. The chefs at the festival would be demonstrating how to cook different foods with garlic. There will be lectures and demonstrations about the nutritious value of garlic as food. The festival is also hosting musical concerts by various bands. Garlic Festival will remain open till 5p.m. on Sunday. Entry in the festival is on ticket.
