Gemma Ward has long been away from the modeling scene and the news is everywhere that the super model is trying to cope with the death of his friend Heath Ledger’s. Heath died from a drug overdose. Apparently the battle was proving a hard one for her as she gained weight. Weight gain is a typical symptom of depression.
She had promised that she would be back on the scene soon. Only after one week after the promise Australian newspaper “The Sunday Telegraph” published Gemma Ward’s pictures in bathing suit. The pictures were taken at the Byron Bay where the model is spending her vacations. Not only did the tabloid published pictures but made fun of her by labeling those pictures as “Role Model”.
Gemma Ward has been snapped in a black colored bathing suit. Her tummy is definitely bulging out and her legs look out of shape.
The headline said “Grieving Gemma Ward’s Weight Battle”. Apparently the whole weight affair proved too much for the model and her agent has announced that she is taking retirement from modeling.
Reading about Gemma Ward’s life and the events leading to her retirement; it is apparent that she was never able to cope with Heath’s death. In 2007 she appeared a little overweight and looked cute with a little weight on, but as the problem persisted she decided to take a leave and deal with the weight problem.
She had even appointed a trainer to help her with her exercise routine.
