General Motors Co is on Fire Sale, they have offered a great obligation deal to the dealers to get rid of the left over of Saturn and Pontiacs models. GM Fire Sale has been explained as the promotional tool to enhance, create and generate artificial sales but in actual it has been decided keeping in view the other important factors.
Fire Sale is defined as the sales strategy to generate artificial sales providing heavy discounts and incentives to the customers. Fire Sale is usually adopted by the sales management to avoid bankrupt and to release the dumped stock to minimize the cost.
GM Fire Sale is also based on the same but they are pretending that GM has decided to provide the new labeled vehicles to the dealers on heavy discounts and incentives, and dealers will be selling these cars as used on the same low prices.
GM , world’s well renowned car manufacturing name going through a phase of manufacturing and building inventory of new models for 2010, but they are disturbed by the old inventory placed of Saturn and Pontiacs which is getting heavy as far as cost and warehouse place is concerned.
The letter has been issued to the dealers offering the deal and invective of $7000 per car, the cars will be shifted to the dealers immediately and technically, dealers will be the first owners of the cars so the end user will be buying a new car under the label of used cars on compromising prices.
GM Fire Sale is on but they need to figure it out that what went wrong in their demand evaluations and must avoid the fire sale next time because such a big brand name can’t afford to offer fire sale every now and then that will definitely hurt the brand reputation.
