Gonzaga University is an American private institute. It was established in 1887.the university is a member of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. It is located in Washington. The university is spread around one hundred and thirty-one acres. The university has a wide program of studies which includes mathematics, religious studies, science, philosophy and literature. The university offers around twenty-six graduate programs.
The university also comprises of different departments such as the school of engineering, school of law, school of nursing, school of education and school of dentistry. The university also has a student exchange program which allows its student to study in a number of foreign institutes such as in Japan, Mexico, Spain and England. The famous school of law in the university was established in 1912.The law school was ranked in the top hundred schools by the United States News and World Report. There are around six hundred faculty members in the university. The University also publishes its own newspaper which is under supervision of the department of Journalism and broadcast.
Gonzaga University has its own national basketball team. The teams mascot is a bulldog. It is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The played for the first time in the National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament in 1995.The team reached the finals of the men’s basketball National Collegiate Athletic Association championship in 1999. The Gonzaga University played with the Florida state university on Friday and had a great victory. The team finished the game with sixty-seven points.
