Quite the joke to play though I think that the people of Topeka in Kansas still appreciate what Google has done for them because the mega company has done nothing more than put the city of Topeka on the world map again when it comes to searches and internet usage. Google Kansas was basically a one day stint that Google pulled off by changing its name to the Topeka which is a city in Kansas. The reason that they did this was that in the month of March, which just ended, the city renamed it’s previously historic title to Google and when we think of why a mayor would do such a thing it is pretty bewildering but there is more to the story behind Google Kansas.
See, just a month ago in February Google announced that it is working on a new kind of network that will change the way people see the internet altogether. The idea behind the network is that it will use the technology of fiber optics to transfer data rather than the conventional means which in turn will provide speeds as fast as one gigabyte per second to the people who have been hooked onto the grid of the network. Now to bring this idea into reality Google needs a few locations or cities in America where it can test run the network.
As soon as they had announced this the mayor of Topeka had a brilliant idea that might tilt Google’s test ground decision towards the city, the mayor decided to change the name of his city to that of Google and Google was sincerely touched by this act which resulted in the Google Kansas name change.
