Graeters is a provincial chain of shops that presenting candy, baked goods and specially ice cream which originated in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1870. The quality ice cream offered by Graeters has been featured on the “Food Network”. Ice Cream has also earned several dedicated fans including “Oprah Winfrey”.
Graeter’s Ice Cream is prepared in a French pot process. The Ice Cream mix is positioned into an ice-cold rotating French pot. While the fluid freezes, a member of staff scrapes down the sides of the pot with a razor blade. For flavors which include Chocolate Chips, liquid of chocolate is poured into the pan and freezes into a slim case on peak of the Ice Cream. An employee uses a sharp edge to disintegrate this case and mix it into the Ice Cream which resulting in well-known huge dark chocolate chips of Graeter.
In recent times Graeters has started upgrading and replacing their Ice Cream manufacturing equipment with an extra automated process. Their innovative machines remove the Ice Cream from the sides of the pan mechanically but because of the fact that Ice Cream still comes out of the pan frozen the pints will continue hand-packed for the predictable future.
Graeters has stores situated around Columbus, Cincinnati and Dayton in Ohio and around Northern Kentucky Lexington and Louisville. In 2005, a shop formed in the “Kings Island Amusement Park”. In 2009, there is also opened a shop in “Harrah’s Horseshoe Southern Indiana casino”, after one in “New Albany” this shop will be the second store in Indiana. There are 3 franchisees, each of which makes the Ice Cream in limited plants. These provide the food in Columbus/Dayton, Louisville and Lexington/Northern Kentucky, respectively.
