The winter Olympics have begun with a promising start for the American Mogul skiers as Hannah Kearney, winner of the 2005 world championship, took Gold for her country. While the Canadian contestant took silver medal, another American, Shannon Bahrke got the bronze for the Mogul event. This was almost a clean sweep for the Americans as they took two of the three positions on the podium.
Hannah Kearney finished the fastest in the event and did a run that was as close as a run can get to perfect. What impressed the judges at the competition was her helicopter and back layout which was immaculate.
Hannah Kearney was born on the twenty-sixth of February in the year 1986 which would make her only twenty-three years old. She made her first appearance in the winter Olympics back in the year 2003 in the month of January.
Hannah Kearney won the gold with an amazing score of 26.63 after being given the advantage of being the last skier to perform in the event.
Hannah Kearney was born in Hanover in New Hampshire and stands at a height of five feet six inches. She had won the trial event in December last year which awarded her a spot on the American team for the winter Olympics. She has also taken Gold at the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championship which was held at the Rukatunturi ski resort based in Finland.
The news will come as a great moment of happiness for all those who have been watching the events and following her progress through the winter Olympics.
