Akano was born in Osaka, Japan on born July 27, 1974. She is 35 year old and has a height of 5 foot 54 inches her weight is 62kg and she learned her “Japanese mixed martial artist” from “Abe Ani Combat Club”.
Hitomi is currently one of the newest possessions in the Japanese Women’s mixed martial arts scene without any doubt. The song she uses as her entrance in the arena is called “Between the Sky”.
After winning the International Cup in Italy the ex-best judo-ka, Hitomi Akano, becomes specialized in May 2003. It only took Hitomi an year to step into the highlight.
Hitomi won “Next Cinderella” organized by the “Smack Girl organization” one of the world’s major women’s Mix Martial Art’s promoters in August 2005.
Hitomi Akano in December 2005 established her status by taking over “Ayako Saioka“, Japan’s top kickboxing warrior of Mix Martial Arts.
In February 15th, 2006 Hitomi face “Debi Purcell” at that time America’s famous unbeatable Mix Martial Arts fighter, Hitomi major win in professional career. In the fight with “Debi”, Hitomi exploited her speed, judo takedowns, and a diversity of submission moves resulting the major upset in the world of women’s Mix Martial Arts in recent years.
Hitomi has a professional track record of 6-1.
Once in her interview answering the question what did you do to conquer the fear of getting hit in the face and how do you feel about hitting, She said “I do have a fear towards striking in the start. Basically it hurts when I get hit and it also leaves a bump and bruises so, I slowly got rid of the fear by learning a technique to not get hit and attack”.
Over all I must say she is a very good fighter and a commodity of modern day Mix Martial Art Fighting.
