The test series has started between India and Sri Lanka, the two best teams of the world. India has just not forgotten the smashing victory by the World Champions in the One International Series in India. India has something to cheer about before the series, the completion of 20 years in international cricket by Sachin Tendulkar. So India is having a keen eye on this Test series against Sri Lanka to hide the wounds of last Australian tour to India. On the other side the Sri Lankan are looking for their first ever victory on the Indian Soil.
The venue of the test match between India and Sri Lanka is Ahmadabad, a great ground to play on as India won the toss and choose to bat first. The first half of the Indian Innings was awful. The strong Indian opening batting line up collapsed like sand’s wall. They lost 4 wickets for just 32 runs. Name like Gambhir, Sehwag, Sachin and Laxman, three of them weren’t event able to enter double figures. Dravid again stood on the crease like an iron’s sheet against the Lankan Bowlers. Yuvraj arrived at the crease when Indian team was in deep trouble. He played sensibly and helped his partner Dravid to build a partnership. Yuvrag got out when the score was 157 on the board.
The real danger for Sri Lankans in shape of Dravid was still there at the crease, Dhoni the skipper joined in and again they carried on a good solid knock. The Sri Lankans failed to make them trouble till the closing of the first day. Dravid reached another 150 in test cricket playing on 177 and Dhoni scored his second test century and got out on 110. The score at the day closing was 385-6. Harbajan joined Dravid and they will appear on the pitch tomorrow.
