A Colorado based company that goes by the name of Infinite Power Solutions has come out with an invention that is hard to believe at first but when the implications of the technology make their impact on the economy it will be known that they were the firsts to revolutionize the battery industry. Infinite Power Solutions has come out with a cell that is small enough to fit in a match box and that’s not what’s so amazing about this battery; the battery can be recharged through vibrations and ambient radiations including light and heat.
The cell which has been named THINERGY™ Micro-Energy Cell (MEC) by Infinite Power Solutions was unveiled at the Energy Harvesting and Storage USA conference which took place in Dallas today. The MEC boasts its three main features which include minimal charge loss as compared to conventional batteries, (the average charge loss of the battery is less than one percent each year), it has a highly efficient electronics to manage its power supply and last but not least the output of the cell can be regulated to the desired voltage.
The MEC will come in handy for various applications when it comes to building smart cities where sensors are placed around the sidewalks and buildings to detect traffic conditions or weather patterns. The use of these MEC’s will cut down the cost of maintenance for a lot of applications that aren’t connected to the electric grid or applications that are controlled through remotes. The battery which is less than three millimeters in thickness will entirely take out the cost replacing batteries.
