To mark the thirty-first anniversary of the Iranian revolution a huge majority of the population has taken to the streets. Supporters from both parties, the leading and the opposition party, have appeared in large numbers on the street as the president of the republic has taken this as a golden opportunity to criticize the west and its restrictions on Iran in matters of enriching uranium and other reforms.
Witnesses from the scene of the rally claim to have seen pro-opposition protesters being carried away in government buses while attempting to access the central streets of Tehran. The Basij militia, which is a force employed by the government has also been alerted and posted to take care of any disturbances that may disrupt this commemoration.
The militia has been armed with paint ball guns to shoot and mark anti-government protesters with paintballs so that they may be easily identified. Apart from that the militia has been witnessed to fire live rounds into the air. In case that the situation may get further out of hand the Basij militia has also been armed with tear gas to disperse the rowdy protesters.
President Ahmadinejad took to the stage and expressed how the west was in attempts to slow the progress of reforms in Iran. He also mentioned something that was of great news to the masses, Iran, for the first time in its history has enriched Uranium to a level of twenty percent. Terming Iran a nuclear state he has raised a great sense of concern for all those governments who have been in attempts to refrain it from reaching such a status.
