Irresistible is a 2006 Australian film, with the lead role played by Susan Sarandon. Irrestible is very well directed and is an engrossing film.
Susan Sarandon is going through a very rough patch in her life as her mother has died and she has to look after her elderly father. Apparently her solace from her circumstances is her work as an illustrator.
She is trying her best to come to grips with the reality after the death of her mother, when something fishy starts happening. Her husband is an architect and employs an assistant. Susan Sarandon suspects the assistant to have an affair with her husband.
Problem with the assistant is that she idolizes Susan Sarandon. This leads to the point where she even starts wearing the dress similar to that of Sarandon’s. The mental stress is making Sarandon lag behind on her work. The dead line to submit an illustration project is impending. She is so stressed out that at a point in the plot she almost overdoses her daughter with a medicine.
Gradually the assistant is indeed proved to have designs on her husband and Craig (Sarandon’s husband) is also falling for the assistant.
Stress starts taking its toll to the point where Sarandon decides to break into the assistant’s house to check if she is stealing her clothes etc. but is caught, and the court orders her to stay away from the assistant and her home.
As family cat goes missing Sarandon finds herself helpless and breaks into the house again.
A highly watchable movie wth the perfect acting by Susan Sarandon.
