Despite James Driscoll’s efforts an unlucky player Zach Johnson, has won the Texas Open from his fellow American, Johnson rolled in a 10 foot birdie putt in the first playoff on Sunday to reclaim his title. This is the second time he beat James Driscoll in seven months.
James Driscoll was joined by his rival Zach Johnson when he shot an even-par 70 in the final round of the playoff. James Driscoll a comparatively unknown in quest of his careers first win on the PGA Tour, his passionate 62 at 15-fewer than 265 for 72 holes has been surged by Johnson and earned $1.098 million.
James Driscoll said I calculated it was about 10 feet birdie. Johnson ended James Driscoll’s lead in final-round which he took about eight strokes back at “La Cantera Golf Club”.
Paul Goydos ended on third place with Bill Hass when he shot out of playoff ending the last round bogey to shoot a 69, though he led throughout with 70 holes.
James Driscoll and Johnson went to the 18th hole in the playoff equally establishing their way with tee shots, but eventually Johnson blown James Driscoll in the last shot when he rolled a 10 foot birdie putt to regain his title, whereas James Driscoll hitting his birdie just 27 feet and eventually ending up much shorter then Johnson.
