Slain Connecticut football player, Jasper Howards funeral arrangements were streamed online on Monday, 26th October. Jasper Howards funeral was held at around eleven in the morning at the New Birth Baptist Church Cathedral in Miami. The enthusiasm of this cornerback towards his game and his heart and devotion to his family will always be remembered.
He was murdered during a dance party on campus in which two persons were stabbed. At around 12:30 a.m. there was an altercation and soon after fire alarm was pulled. Howard and another man were stabbed by an anonymous person. No one was yet charged for his death.
The UConn football team members reached Miami to attend his funeral services and each of them carried a white rose, knotted with a blue color ribbon, as walked into the church on Monday morning. Huskies coach Randy Edsall addressed the grievers. He acclaimed Howard by saying that this twenty-year-old young player was on his track for immensity and greatness.
Soon after the funeral services finished, Jasper Howard was buried at a neighboring churchyard. He was dressed in blue dress and gray and blue color football gloves, alike he wore on the sports ground for UConn.
Howard’s co-players paid tribute and praise to this young player before the game against West Virginia on Saturday. Two of his team players carried his jersey and helmet before opening and both Connecticut and West Virginia players, during the game wore labels on helmets. Howard’s team players also held hands and hooked their heads for a moment of silence in his remembrance.
