Lisa Mayfield has filed a lawsuit against his stepson named “Jeremy Mayfield” on Wednesday, because she believes that Jeremy Mayfield falsely blamed her of taking money from NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) and murdering his father. According to False and Defamatory statements, his stepmom is looking for punitive damages over $10,000, compensatory damages of more than $10,000 and other relief which the court may think just and appropriate.
This complaint has been filed by Lisa Mayfield in “Ireland County Civil Court” in Statesville on Wednesday. His Stepmom made a statement to “WSOC-TV in Chalotee” and “ESPN.com” in which she claimed that she had witnessed over Jeremy Mayfield of taking methamphetamine minimum thirty times during 1998 and 2005.
Jeremy Mayfield responded during a telephone interview with ESPN.com in which he said: “She’s basically a whore. She shot and killed my dad.”
He also blamed his stepmom of accepting money from NASCAR in exchange for her testimony.
“It wouldn’t take much money,” he said at the time. “She tried to get money from me.”
In her complaint, she further added that statements made by Jeremy Mayfield about his stepmom were insulting and false.
Jeremy Mayfield was suspended by the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing due to a drug test which proved to be positive for methamphetamine on 9th of May, 2009.
