Born in Lyons, New York on November 1944 Jim Boeheim received his first victory, 75-48 over Harvard back in 1976 and that was the start of is to become a great successful career in the sports history.
Jim Boeheim registered his name in history as he become one of the eight NCAA Division coaches to reach the milestone of 800 wins, he made this record when his team won 75-43 over Albany Yesterday night in the 2K Sports Classic.
Only four of eight are alive who reached to the milestone of 800 win, Bob Knight leads the team of coaches with 902 victories, whereas as Jim Boeheim, Mike Krzyzewski and Jim Calhoun are among those eight who have reached to the mark of 800.
Jim Boeheim the head coach for Syracuse University men’s team, his career spanning over 33 seasons in which he lead his team in 5 Big East Championship season, over 25 National Collegiate Athletic Association Tournaments, 7 regular season championships of Big East, whereas his team has appeared in the national title game 03 times.
Although Orange lost the title shots back in 1987 and 1996 from Indiana and Kentucky respectively but they defeated Kansas in 2003 to win the championship.
All Jim Boeheim 800 wins came while serving as Syracuse coach ranking his as the third on the list of
NCAA Division I Coaches.
Jim Boeheim served U.S Mens’s National Basketball Team as assistant coach at Federation of International Basketball Association World Championships back in 1990 and 2006, while Mike Krzyzewski serving as Head Coach.
Jim Boeheim continues his services as assistant coach in 2010 Federation of International Basketball Association World Championship and Summer Olympics of 2012 under the lead of Mike Kryzewski.
