According to reports the star tailback for USC football team Joe McKnight got into trouble when he was spotted driving a sports Vehicle. The SUV owned by a 47-years-old Santa Monica Businessman, a possible NCAA rules violation.
According to the news it can be an arrangement which makes it a violation of NCAA rules, investigations is underway.
According to the NCAA rules student-athletes must not accept benefits or financial assistance from agents or marketing representatives “special benefits” regarding their athletic ability. It has also been reported that Joe McKnight has been driving around in 2006 Land Rover SUV.
Investigators confirm from California Department of Motor Vehicles records that the sports SUV is registered to Scott Schenter a 47-years-old Santa Monica Businessman.
After a back ground check it has been discovered that Scott Schenter was involved in marketing previously and has registered a website “4joemcknight.com” through a company he owned. However it is unclear at this point that whether Scott has any connections with USC or whether Joe Mcknight’s school had any knowledge of his activities.
If the investigations proved that Joe McKnight has violated NCAA rules that could be devastating for his athletic career. USC’s football team will be playing against Boston College in San Francisco on 26 December.
It is believed that star tailback Joe McKnight the leading rusher for the USC who is leading the listings with 1,014 yards under his belt is not the only athlete, who has accusation against his name for violating NCAA rules, basketball player O.J. Mayo and football player Reggie Bush are also under scrutiny from Pac-10 and NCAA for violations.
