John Allen Muhammad’s execution is scheduled at 9:00 p.m. today. John Allen’s first appeal was rejected by the Supreme Court of America previously. His request for the clemency has also been refused by the Governor and now his appeal just before his execution has also been turned down. He went on killing some 10 people in three cities in October 2002. He was accompanied by Lee Boyd Malvo. Malvo has been sentenced to a life in prison.
John Allen Muhammad’s trial started in 2003 and his attorney pleaded that his client wanted to take back his kids from their mother and is mentally disturbed. However there were no proofs in the favor of theory as all the victims killed had no relation with John Allen or his family. He was awarded a death sentence. As John Allen’s wife spoke to National media, she was nothing but broke as she told that his husband’s actions were destructive to her and children and she could not believe them. She said that as she felt that her husband could not kill her and children, her feelings towards the others are same that John Allen could not take lives.
John Allen Muhammad had served U.S Military in Iraq-Kuwait War and he was recognized for his abilities. Once he told his accomplice Malvo that he wants to build a model town for young black population.
John Allen Muhammad declined to choose a method of execution for himself. As per the state laws he would be executed by lethal injection – which is preferred over electrical chair.
