According to the latest reports from Josh Billings Runaground, Kari Crowe has set new records with her fastest speed during the entire Iron woman Kayak race. Kari Crowe, a 45-year old from New Hampshire, returned to the race after long break of 7 years. But apparently, this break brought more speed to her as she made new record in the Iron woman Kayak race by completing it in a time period of 2 hours, 55 minutes, and 42 seconds. The previous record which was set by Mary Duprey was a time period of 2 hours 59 minutes and 32 seconds. Kari Crowe also holds the record for the Iron woman canoe race. Kari gave birth to a daughter during her break of seven years. Kari’s daughter used to sit with her on her kayak during the training and practice sessions.
Another subject which remained a hot topic during the entire Josh billings Runaground water race was Zebra Mussels! The race, which was scheduled this Sunday, consists of three tiers and in each tier boats, canoes, and kayaks sail through the waters of Stockbridge Bowl. Last year, the authorities found Zebra Mussels in the water. These small creatures were not welcomed by the cleaners as these mussels ruin the entire ecosystem of the water. Participants of the Josh Billings Runaground race were concerned about the presence of these tiny creatures. When questioned the organizers, they denied all rumors and told the media that the water as well the boats were clean.
