Today is the hundred and sixth birth anniversary of J. R. D. Tata. He is considered as the father of the Indian Civil Aviation. He was also the first man to get a pilots license issued in India. He was born in the year 1904 in the capital of France. His mother was French and the first language that he spoke was also French. He also became a part of the French Foreign Legion. After spending most of his childhood in France he came to his father’s country India. J. R. D. Tata did not continue his studies after passing the tenth grade.
When he started doing business he became one of the leading business men in India and he decided to form his own airline company. He formed his airline and named it Tata airlines. The airlines started commercial functions in the year 1932. Later on the company was called Air India and now it is the national airline of India. J. R. D. Tata made good name in the business world as he did not agree to bribe the politicians and also condemned black marketing. He was very loyal to his customers. He became the Chairman of Tata sons when he was thirty four years of age. His businesses were of different types. Engineering works, Steel, airline, Chemicals were some of the businesses he conducted.
An air show was conducted today in his fond memory. The air show took place in the Jamshedpur town of Jharkand in India. The people from different parts of the world remember him as a big gun and an honest businessman.
