Juanes perform in his concert in Cuba on Sunday. The concert which has raised much controversy finally rocked half a million people this Sunday in Cuba.
Juanes, who basically hail from America, performed at a concert with 14 other performances. The concert was most welcomed by the younger Cuban generation while the older generation of the Cuba disapproved it. The concert was labeled as ‘Concert for Peace’ by many both in the U.S. as well as in Cuba and it was said that it will promote peace between United Sates and the Cuban people. Some liberal communities in Cuba hoped that the Juanes’ concert will be the beginning of new relations between the two countries and more understanding will be developed between the citizens of both countries.
According to the reports, some 36 politicians have sent a signed invitation to the singer urging him to come and perform in Cuba as they hope that it will help in the reconciliation between the two countries.
President Obama commented about the much controversial concert of Juanes in Cuba and told the press that American government is not backing this concert. He also said that though United Sates wants to have better cultural relationships with the Cuban people, the concert is not an agenda of U.S. government.
Obama government has lifted many restrictions from Cuba since it has taken over the office.
Juanes is a much-liked musician with fans all over the world. The artist has won 17 Grammy Awards.
