Shabbir Ahmed Shah, the leader of All Parties Hurriat Conference of Indian Occupied Kashmir, has stressed upon the other Kashmiri Leaders to get united by resolving their mutual issues for the greater cause of liberation of Kashmir.
He was of the view that all parties to the dispute will take part in the decision-making process regarding future plans of the movement. On his recent release from jail that he calls his “second home” uttered that he has been in the jail for four months. “Now I am transferred from a small jail to a big one”, said the leader implying that the illegal Indian occupation on Kashmir is rejecting the aspirations of Kashmiris that has made their homeland a bigger jail. He disclosed that the detainees in the jail are in horrible conditions. They are not given medical and legal facilities which are their right. He revealed that poor Kashmiri detainees have to spend thousands of rupees to get those facilities which are their legitimate right.
Shabbir Shah emphasized on the need of revival of the liberation movement. He said that Kashmiri leaders should energize and vitalize the legal cell of All Parties Hurriat Conference (APHC). Another Kashmiri leader Mir Waiz Umer Farooq has stressed upon Indian Government to set all the illegally imprisoned Kashmiri leaders free. He told that such steps by the Indian Government will go a long way towards creating peace in the region that is already burning in turmoil.
He was of the view that such steps by the Indian Government will build confidence among the parties to the dispute. Mir Waiz Umar Farooq was talking to media in Srinagar before boarding the plane to London from Delhi. He was going to London to participate in the conference on Kashmir. He told that the world community needs to understand the aspirations of Kashmiris.
