Kelly Pavlik is back. Kelly Pavlik retained his long held WBC, WBO titles when he defeated Miguel Espino on Saturday in Ohio.
Kelly Pavlik has returned to boxing ring after an absence of 10 months. His hand infection kept Kelly Pavik out for so long but he dropped Miguel Espino with his right upper cut in fourth round. The fight was stopped in firth round.
Kelly Pavlik was defending his two under waist belts in middleweight title. It was Kelly Pavlik’s third successful defense of the title. Kelly has not appeared in the ring since he defended his title in February against Rubio.
Kelly Pavlik retains an impressive record of 36 wins and 1 loss in his boxing career. After the fight Kelly Pavlik held his hand up while commenting that it is still a little bit tender but ice would fix it.
Espino commented of hurting the champion for a few times. Espino said that it was the day to take a champion down. Espino was warned for low blows in second and third round.
Kelly Pavlik will give more attention to his up coming fight with Paul Williams. Fight with Paul Williams was scheduled for 3rd October this year but was postponed for Kelly Pavlik’s left hand injury.
The American boxer is 27 years of age from Youngstown Ohio and is known as “The Ghost”. Trained by Jack Loew, the boxer is praised world wide for his unglamorous and unassuming lifestyle. His loyalty to his traditional ethnic neighborhood is proverbial.
