NASA’s first mission for finding Earth-size and smaller planets around other stars and surprisingly it discovered around 500,000 planets in the neighboring stars. So we have most probably got a huge company around. There are around 100 trillion earths like planets in the galaxy.
Kepler Mission was launched to get the information about earth like planets, around the earth and in the galaxy and this mission is quite successful in its objectives like the population of Milky Way galaxy and to determine how many of the stars have such planets like earth in our galaxy.
The Kepler Mission was successfully able to find the planets around the earth and in the galaxy but the real quest is to get the information about the planets.
The Kepler was launched to study around 50,000 stars in the galaxy and most of the astronomers were anticipating around 50 to 100 earth like planets but it was like a jackpot of planets for them.
Wow! the next step for the scientist is to start communicating with aliens around? Dr. Saygun talked about it very excitingly as he said do not forget to smile once at the sky as billions of billions of aliens might be scanning and monitoring our earth, with their own priorities. He was confident enough that some one must be scanning the earth from the galaxy.
