Lakewood Police Shooting left 4 police officers dead. On Sunday morning at about 8 am, the police officers were sitting at Forza Coffee shop when the shooting took place.
Maurice Clemmons, a person with frequent criminal records was identified as the shooter by the police. It was the first time in the history of Lakewood Police that four of their police officers came under line of fire at the same time. The officers were wearing bullet proof jackets, despite of these bullet proof jackets they were shot dead at the scene.
Later these dead police officers were pronounced Sergeant Mark Renninger, Greg Richard, Tina Griswald and Ronal Owens.
According to latest developments on the shooting scene, Ed Troyer, the Peirce County Sheriff spokesman said that a hoax call from a man in Tacoma was made while taking the responsibility of the shooting. The man has been arrested for causing hindrance in the police investigations. The police have been searching vehicles at Evergreen self Storage, in response to this hoax call and bomb squad is also called in. KING-TV news crew has been also charged for obstruction into the police affairs as their helicopter was hovering over the shooting scene.
Talking about the shooting Troyer added that two of the police officers were instant victims of shooter while third one tried to stand up for some counter measures but he was also shot. The fourth officer however managed to have some struggle with the shooter and firing a few shots.
Up till now police have blocked the 112th Street near Forza and police is checking the vehicles in the parking of Evergreen Self Storage facility. Police helicopter are in the air hovering around the area.
