Headline: League of Women Voters will help the voters in Nov 3 elections
League of Women Voters New Jersey and the American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey (ACLU-NJ)teamed up to provide help to female voters before the elections and during the vote casting process in the ongoing Gubernatorial elections. The Gubernatorial elections are being held in New Jersey on November 3, 2009 where two representatives from Democrats and Republicans will beat through a neck-to-neck competition.
To help the female voters during the election process, League of Women Voters New Jersey (LWVNJ) has been working in collaboration with ACLU-NJ. The two organizations will be working on collecting information from the entire state about the election process and to evaluate the data to judge the effectiveness of the process. The two organizations are also determined to provide help and assistance to the female voter to understand the election process. The League of Women Voters has also established a hotline where female voters could call and file their problems or complaints. Anne Nicholas, executive director of LWVNJ believes their efforts will strengthen the democracy in the state and will encourage the tradition of vote casting among the locals. She said that through such assistance LWVNJ will become closer to the voters. “Through the hotline, at the polls, and in the courthouses, New Jersey voters can reach us, quickly and easily, to report issues and for assistance,” says Anne.
