Lehigh University is an American private University. It was established in 1865.It is located in Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded by Asa Packer. It used to provide free education students who were capable enough to pass their exam. The university initially started with only 5 departments which included the general literature, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, metallurgy and mining.
The university was a co-educational institute and now has 4 colleges as a part of the university which includes the College of Arts and Science, College of Business, engineering college and college of literature. The university also started providing Masters Level of education which included the master of business, master of engineering, Master of Science and Master of Arts. The Lehigh University is known as the best university in the region. The university was ranked as the most selective institute by the United States News and World Report. The students of the university were known to be the inventor of the highly used escalator. They were also ranked thirty-second by the United States News and World Report for their graduation success rate.
The Lehigh university has also made a name since the starting of the inter college sports events. They are known as the mountain hawks. The students of the university take part in almost twenty five game vents by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The university team won the 2002 National Collegiate Athletic Association award. The students from the Lehigh University have become professional players for the National football league, the National Basketball Association NBA and the baseball league MLB. The universities women basketball team will play on Sunday the twenty-first of March at Iowa State.
