Leon Russell, the wisplike keyboard player who did a guest appreance on the Zac Brown Band at the Grammy’s on Sun. nighttime on Jan, thirty-one, contributed decennaries of experience and fabulous performance onto the center stage.
Leon Russell was born in Oklahoma and he started his vocation in the clubs of Tulsa when he was a teenager. Subsequently coming to Los Angeles, he joined the Phil Spector’s squad of séance instrumentalists, playing upon a lot of Spector’s greatest hits, also songs by the Herb Alpert, Byrds etc.
Aside his record album Carney, which was released in 1972, the solo attempts of Leon Russell only got a little success, but he’s composed smash hits for other people like “Superstar,” which was co-written by Bonnie Bramlett, which was also done by other bands. On the Grammy Award performance on Sun. Zac Brown opened up with an interpretation of America the Beautiful, prior to the calling on of Russell to the stage, who played a piano as Brown and the band performed at their smasher Chicken Fried.
