The tallest living man Leonid Stadnyk was born in Zhytomyr Oblass, Ukraine, The year of birth is 1971. As per Guinness Book of world record he was the tallest man until August 20,2008. The editor inchief of Guinness World record, Craig Glen announced that the title of the tallest living man is being returned to Bao Xishun of China as the Stadnyk is not agree to be measured under the new guidelines. Guinness world record adjudicators needed to measure him independently.
Amarilis Espinoza, The spokeswoman of Guinness Book reveals in august 2007 that in 2008 edition of the record book, Stadnyk is taller than Bao Xishum, Bao Xishun lives in inner Mongolia, china. He is measured 2.36 meters (7 feet 8.9 inches). Stadnyk’s refusal is a denial to recognize the GWR. Now the legitimacy of his record is under suspicions. According to Ukrainian book Stadnyk is measured 2.54 meters (8 feet 4 inches). But the fact is that none of the Guinness credited doctors ever measured Stadnyk by themselves.
Stadnyk was just 12 years old when he was diagnosed to have developed a pituitary gland tumor. He goes for a brain Surgery. The gland started to secrete a large amounts of growth hormones. And so developed what doctors call acromegalic gigantism. After 20 years his tumor is no more. He gained 2 centimeters (0 .79 inches) in the previous year. Weighing 440 pound his health is now gradually declining and he needs to hold on to thing around to prevent falling.
