What type of message do public figures like Lil Wayne give to their fans when they get involved in such activities? The younger generation with their minds still unripe picks the cue and gets involved in the drugs, violence and other street crimes. In my view fame brings a responsibility also and that is; to be a model for all followers.
Back in 2007 as Lil Wayne’s tour van left Beacon Theater in New York, it was reported that the van was all giving out the smell of weed. As police searched the vehicle Lil Wayne was found smoking weed along with others in the van. During the search artist was found to be in possession of a loaded gun also. He was charged for both drugs and for the possession of a loaded weapon.
The charges meant at least 3.5 years behind bars, to avoid the term Lil Wayne has pleaded guilty and is sentenced for 1 year term in the jail.
Unfortunately the event is not a separated one time happening. The artist carries a history of drug possession moreover Lil Wayne is not ashamed of publicly confessing that he enjoys smoking weed. He told the audience on a CBS show that he uses marijuana for recreational purposes and that he has left taking codeine. Apart from Marijuana, Codeine he was also charged for the possession of MDMA.
He would be going to jail in February 2010 to start his sentence of year behind the bars.
