Olympic opening ceremonies was held in “Birds Nest” the new Chinese National Stadium became the liars theater not only Lin Miaoke, was the dummy performer for the night but fireworks sequence which held earlier in the ceremony were also digitized with “theatrical effect”.
Lin Miaoke, age 9, with Pigtails and smiling face, is not the voice of “Olympic Opening Ceremony” she stood on the stage with her red dress and white shoes and a pretty smiling face but the patriotic ballad “Ode to the Motherland” sung by her was in actually “Yang Peiyi” voice. In the evening’s most indelible images in front of one billion viewers the voice coming out of her mouth was not hers’. It was first noticed by Lin’s father that the voice of Lin was a little different. Giving his interview over the phone in Tuesday, Lin’s father said that “the difference might be caused by the acoustics”.
Acoustics has nothing to do anything with this what so ever. The story behind all this goes something like this, Communist Party was under pressure from the high command to find a perfect face with perfect voice for the ceremony, and production team for the ceremony was unable to manage both in the same child thought of the solution to use two girls instead of one.
The production team found the perfect face as Lin Miaoke, a third grader, pretty and attractive but her voice was not appropriate to singer and the perfect voice was “Yang Peiyi” another young girl age 7 not as cute, and there they have the combination of a perfect face with voice in actual when Lin opened her mouth to sing the song, the voice which was actually singing the patriotic balled was “Yang’s”.
Giving an interview to a radio station on Sunday General music designer, Chen Qigang said, “The reason was for the national interest” and “The child on camera should be flawless in image, internal feeling and expression”. he also told the radio station that a member of the Communist Party’s, listened the last rehearsal, and did not like the voice of Lin other officials were there too, and they insisted that Lin’s voice “must change”.
On the other hand “Yang Peiyi” appeared on China Central Television, on Monday and told the interviewer that she is ok with it she also said “My voice was used in the performance. I think that’s enough”. She also sang a song for the viewers.
“Miaoke is not upset also that Miaoke and Peiyi were good friends and she does not care who sing the song, as long as she performed” said by Mr. Lin. He also said that “She will understand when she will grow up”.
