The Long Island Railroad service had broken down due to the fire which occurred in the control tower of Jamaica. All the railway lines had to be closed due to the fire as all the computers and the whole system of navigating the trains was damaged. The fire caused the service to stop for a few hours but it changed into many hours after it had shown some critical damages on Monday. The fire broke out due the short circuit of two wires which burnt down all the old and unsafe equipment but it had caused inconvenience to more than a hundred thousand people who were intended to go home from their work. All the passengers who had taken the tickets of the Long Island Railroad service were looking very calm and quiet.
According to the authorities the new schedule for this service was going to be announced and displayed today after the fire had caused a big halt in their service. Some of the passengers were very frustrated by this stoppage and took other ways of transportations. The officials of the Long Island Railroad said that they are not sure when the train will start again. According to the president of LIRR Helena Williams the whole system needed a renewal of infrastructure as everything had become old and inefficient. According to the media the authorities of this service gave an offer to the passengers to travel on other trains with their tickets of their service. This sudden problem had caused a lot of people to be n tension and distress for these two previous days.
