Leona Lewis appeared in the Waterstones book store for book signing ceremony and what was supposed to be a pleasant event for her turned out to be a violent one. Yesterday afternoon, when Leona reached the book store for the book signing ceremony along with her longtime boyfriend Lou Al Chamaa, she was greeted by a large crowd of cheering fans but in the middle of the ceremony the sad event happened which left the singer in shock (and pain).
The X Factor fame Leona got punched by a man who was standing in the queue of her fans. The 29-year-old man queued up along with her fans who were gathered at the book store to take autographs from the hit show winner. 90 minutes after the start of the ceremony, when his turn came, the man reached the singer to punch her on the side of her head. Leona was shocked at the attack and left the ceremony in tears. Later, Leona cancelled her appearance on BBC programme The One Show. The man was restrained by the police and was kept in custody for few hours. The attacker was released later and no charges were made against him.
This is for the second time Leona had to take help from the security officials. The first event happened during the shooting of The X Factor when the recordings of her songs were stolen from her record label’s computer system.
The attack came a day after the singer’s announcement that she will do a full-length concert of her album in UK on November 2.
Singer Leona Lewis is winner of British talent show The X Factor. The 24-year-old singer is a longtime girlfriend of Lou Al-Chamaa who she also credited for pushing her to appear in X Factor.
