Perhaps the bat wanted to celebrate Halloween not by scaring the spectators at AT & T Center but by watching the wonderful game being played. Howevers comes Manu Ginobili – The Bat Buster, and it is doomed! The game was between San Antonio Spurs and Sacramento Kings. A bat entered the arena and started circling. The game had to be paused temporarily to clear the field. The game was restarted and position was SAC-26 and SA-29 during the first period. The bat re-entered the field. Manu Ginpbili had had enough. As the bat circled, one of SA player was seen shunning away from the bat. However Manu Ginobili took position, and as the bat closed in he raised his left hand and struck the bat – and there it goes on the floor (dead or at least unconscious).
As Manu picked it up and handled to some official outside the court, the crowd broke into a loud applause for the player, even some Sacramento players couldn’t control themselves and were seen applauding.
Later Manu was given some antimicrobial to rub into his hands and Batman theme song was played for the player and fans.
Though Spurs win the game, it was Manu Ginobili’s performance that everybody was talking about. Ginobili later said that it was not a big deal and after all he had to find a way to be in the news!
It was not only the spectators who were thrilled, Spurs coach was full of praises for the player too and said that if someone was not present at the moment and is told about the event, not only that he won’t believe it but he would call you a liar also.
