Marty Cordova was born on 10th of July, 1969 in Las Vegas, Nevada; who is a former “Left fielder” in “Major League Baseball”. Marty Cordova played for Minnesota Twins during the period from 1995 to 1999, for Toronto Blue Jays in 2000, for Cleveland Indians in 2001 and for Baltimore Orioles during 2002 to 2003. Marty Cordova threw right-handed and batted. He batted and threw right-handed. Marty Cordova played 6 seasons in minor leagues before starting his career in Major League Baseball.
Marty Cordova started his career in Minor Leagues with “Elizabethton Twins” of “Appalachian League” in 1989. Marty Cordova moved to class A after a season in Rookie Ball and spent his season of 1990 with “Kenosha Twins” of the “Mid West League”. Marty Cordova was a brilliant and talented player, who was named as the “American League Rookie of the Year” in 1995. Marty Cordova received an honor over other players like Shawn Green, Garret Anderson, Troy Percival and Andy Pettitte due to hitting .277 with 24 runs and 84 RBI for Twins. His second season was better than previous with batting average .309, 97 home runs, 46 doubles and RBI 111.
Marty Cordova missed 240 games during the period from 1997 to 2000 because of injury. In 2001, Marty Cordova returned back in well form with the Indians by hitting .301 with 20 runs and he belted eighteen homers with Orioles in 2002. Afterwards he appeared in just 9 games in 2003 and missed all of 2004 due to operations on right elbow.
