Matt Winer started his sports journalism career on ESPN in 2001. Joining as news person he was quickly given the responsibility to host ESPN’s popular SportsCenter. Seeing his sports acumen and in depth knowledge of NBA and players he was employed to host FastBreak. He made the program interesting by keeping viewers informed about latest plays, scores and hot events.
ESPN is not the only TV channel for whom Matt Winer has worked as a sports journalist. He has rendered his abilities to other channels like KTVQ of Montana. He not only brings his knowledge about the major teams to the shows he hosts but also well researched news about the high school teams, player biographies and previous scores. Matt Winer is credited with reporting many games that have made their place in the pages of history.
Matt has received a degree in Journalism University of Missouri.
I have often heard Matt Winer interviewing players. The questions he asks reveal the in depth knowledge about the particular style of the player. Watching his “NBA Secrets of the Game” is not only interesting but also instructive for the amateurs and pros alike.
It’s always tricky to report news in an unbiased manner and while working for a particular channel, it becomes more difficult. Matt is regarded as reporting the news from both points of views and without taking sides.
Most recently Matt Winer’s popularity ratings have gone up. From being 150th on the ladder he now stands at 143rd number.
