Meredith Emerson was a student at the University of Georgia. She was aged 24 when she was murdered in North Georgia. She was last seen hiking in the North Georgian mountains. She was missing on the 2nd of January 2008 while hiking in the mountains. She was held hostage by man; he wanted her correct pin number for her debit card. He kept Meredith with him for 3 days and then brutally killed her. The man who was responsible for this act was Michael Hilton.
He confessed to the court after he was caught at a gas station. He was trying to clear the evidence of the crime while the police caught him. The CSI (crime scene investigation) found proof of Meredith Emerson DNA. Hilton was arrested on the fourth of January 2008.According to the autopsy report she was badly hit on her head and died due to the immense trauma on the head.
After two years of her death Hustler magazine wants to publish the autopsy photos of Meredith Emerson. The magazine was not allowed to publish such photos in the magazine. The Georgia state legislation denied to publish crime scene photos. Hilton was sentenced to jail and was even related to three others killings in the same state. It is unethical to post such kind of photos in the magazine said John Bankhead. An act was issued to avoid the publication of crime scene photos which show bloodied, bruised or nude appearance of the victim. Hustler magazine is still trying to publish the photos of Meredith Emerson the legal way
